Lila Gown in Plum

Our original bestselling Lila gown is designed with actual labor in mind. Created by a Labor and Delivery Nurse and Doula, these gowns are intended to provide accessibility to your medical team, while still being stylish and comfortable for you.

Some features of this gown include:

High-quality, butter smooth, stretch material - Did you know, for some women, sensations are experienced differently in labor? A texture that may feel fine normally can become irritating and distracting during labor. The material used for this gown has been hand selected to be soft enough to keep you comfortable throughout.

Low back - perfect to provide accessibility for epidural placement and/or massage.

Opens at the belly - Most gowns for use during labor, like the typical hospital gown won't open in front at all, meaning the cords from your fetal monitors will hang down in front of your legs which can be annoying and distracting. Our labor gowns open down the middle of your belly so you can string the cords up with your portable monitoring system and keep them out of the way and out from under your feet.

Two inside ties and full coverage - One of the most common complaints women have post-childbirth is that they felt they were not afforded privacy during labor. Other labor gowns are skimpy and revealing, and hospital gowns tend to open completely down the back with no way to keep them fully closed. Our gowns are made with 3/4 sleeves, and two inside ties to keep your gown closed without sacrificing accessibility.

Opens at the chest - The front of this gown opens completely at the chest for skin to skin immediately after birth, and because sometimes that happens quickly or unexpectedly there are no knots to untie or changes of position required to give complete and immediate access to your chest for skin to skin and breastfeeding.

Matching Baby Swaddle Set - How can you miss the opportunity to match with your baby? Our Lila gown can be ordered solo or as a set. Simply add a matching Baby Swaddle Set to your cart and use code BUNDLE50 at checkout to get the matching Baby Swaddle Set for 50% off!

Amazing quality

I discovered with my third daughter it was a complete game changer and so much better than the hospital gowns. Unfortunately delivery did not go as planned and a labor and delivery turned into a nightmare and emergency surgery. Since then I have had 12 surgeries in 2 years and 1 coming up this November and these gowns are all that I wear. It perfect access and yet makes you feel covered and modest and not all hanging out. I would highly recommend

It gets confuse for a dress instead of a hospital gown. Use a magnetic side closure underwear.

The Lila Gown is absolutely beautiful! People people might not even realize it’s a hospital gown and confused with a dress! They will say things like "It looks more like a stylish dress or why are you wearing a nice dress for this". The fabric is incredibly soft, and the flattering design helps you feel a bit more put-together, even if you haven’t done your hair or makeup.

I went with the Plum color, which is not only pretty but also practical. Our doctor recommended a dark color because when they hand you the baby right after birth, there may be blood or other fluids involved, and it’s more likely to stain light-colored fabric. You can ask for the baby to be cleaned before skin-to-skin contact, but most of the doctors and nurses I spoke with actually advised against it.

One thing I was really unsure about was what kind of underwear to wear during labor. I knew that for bra it should be between a nursing bra or bralette but for the other i didnt know. But I found an amazing solution: the Victoria’s Secret period panty with magnetic side closures. It made everything so much easier! I used it during OBGYN checkups too, and even the doctors and nurses commented on how genius it was. I highly recommend it if you’re planning to wear the Lila Gown during labor it makes a big difference in comfort and convenience. Dont recommend it during postpartum unless due that you need something to hold you everything you wearing or maybe consult your doctor if this might be a good idea if you had a C section.

Lila birth gown

Ordered Full size, and it ran a little smaller than the measurements listed. Gown fit well, just a little bit on the smaller side and operated well for my needs. Really comfortable and flattering. Got a lot of compliments in the labor ward haha!

Gown is bad quality ):

Color is off and gown itself is awful quality of fabric. I sized up twice and it still fits awful on my breasts. I wanted to love this gown so bad too... ):
